Last Tuesday, the time finally arrived to pick up my Mom!!  It actually started out as a crazy sort of morning (OK, let's be honest most of my mornings are crazy).  The boys had dentist apts scheduled in Sterling (about an hour away).  For some reason I only thought it would be take me about 40 minutes.  When I punched in the address in the GPS and it said I would be 20 minutes late, I called and they rescheduled for later that day.  It all ended up being fine, but instead of just missing a couple of hours of school like I thought he would, Jackson missed all but the last hour and a half!  Oh well, at least they had clean teeth by the end of the day :) And we got Chick-fil-a lunch on the way home, so that made us all feel better :) I drove back out to Dulles and picked my Mom up later that evening.  She brought me some fresh lemons off her tree- yeah! On Wednesday, the mall was doing a "Read Across America" event.  I wasn't real...

Valentine's Day and the Taylor Fam!

Valentine's Day is always a favorite around here.  A chance to give a few little gifts and eat chocolate?  I'm in!  Erik and I kept it really simple since we were looking forward to our New York get-away.  It was fun to pick out a few little things for the kids to wake up to though. :)  I still have quite the collection of clearance toys from the last two after Christmas sales when choosing things.  At the last minute I actually downsized Wyatt's to a smaller one (but I took the picture before I made the decision) Anna was happy carrying around her little Boots.  And I was obsessed with her Jasmine little people so I could finally hear all of the Disney princesses sing in her castle! Dinner was pepperoni pizza (I was going to make a homemade one in a heart shaped pizza pan I bought, but at the last minute decided to make a really simple with a frozen one-- at least it is red and white!) alongside heart shaped carrots.   ...

An Update

Well I still don't have my laptop, but Erik found someone that can fix it- yeah! So hopefully I will be able to update the blog a bit better in the near future.  This past week was kind of bumpy.  I felt like I was all over the map emotionally.  But, I think I made a personal breakthrough, so that's awesome.  This life is pretty wonderful when we learn and grow new things :) **Several hours after posting I always check it for typos I missed (oh the typos!).  When I saw that I wrote that "growing new things makes life wonderful" I thought it was too funny to change. haha it sounds like I need to make a trip to the dermatologist! The other thing that has been all over the map is the weather.  Every several days there is a really great random weather day and the rest are freezing (and contributing to my downer mood I'm sure!).  After Jackson's birthday, it was a great day weather wise, and Jackson was keen to try out his new roller blades. ...
