My Little Cruiser

Image
This week, Wyatt learned how to use his little walking push toy. It never occurred to me to have him use it before now; he's been cruising and standing on his own for about three weeks-- this guy LOVES to move!! He was so proud of himself (as well he should be!) "Look what I can do!" I'm glad we have a lot of carpeted areas now, much softer for the all the tumbles he will be taking shortly as he learns to walk! Jackson loved teaching him how to use it. And just because I can, here are some more pictures of my wonderful little Wy -Guy

I Enjoy Being a Girl . . . Who Is the Mother of a Boy(s)

The day before we left my parents house, I came in the kitchen to find Jackson making a delicious treat indeed: He had saved a dragon fly he found on our walk, and was "cooking" it in apple juice. He was concentrating so hard and wanted to add some salt to make it tastier. No, he really didn't eat it. The thing I loved the most, is this didn't gross me out at all. I seriously love having little boys. On another cute Jackson note, last night when we were leaving IHOP (sadly, one of Erik's favorite places to eat!), he was listing all of things Jesus created. He told me that Jesus created the cactus, and I said, "yes, Jesus created the plants." He thought for a moment and then said, "Jesus wore gloves when He created the cactus so His hands wouldn't get hurt, didn't He?" He's so funny :)

The Visalians Are Here!

Well, we are actually here. Living. In a house. It seems like the past month has just gone by in a haze. It feels surreal to be back in California, but in a place I've never been before! I'm really loving getting to know my new city. The newspaper has been my new best friend in figuring out the ins and outs of this place. I felt so bad for the movers because the day we moved (like the majority of days here so far) was over 100 degrees. However, it was mighty nice not worrying about it ourselves! The move itself has gone smoothly, except for two missing boxes. One has our utensils and the other all of our remote controls, both pretty important! :) Our garage is now F-U-L-L of boxes. Luckily, all of our stuff does fit in there. If we are outside after 11:00 am we are in some sort of water. I have a feeling I'm going to have to figure out the ins and outs of baby proofing a house with a pool! The boys taking a nap this afternoon. Do you see the treadmill in the family room...

I think this is the longest I've gone without posting. It's really hard to find any type of routine without a permanent place to live, so I've just dropped blogging from my must-do-list. However, since I'm using this as my family record/journal I figured I should put something on here about our homeless times! We've been out of Rexburg for over 2 weeks now, and we've spent some time in Stockton, Livermore , and Visalia . Erik started his new job last Monday and has been staying at a hotel there. The boys and I stayed with him for a few days this week. It was great to get to know our new city better, but keeping the boys in one hotel room was enough to make me crazy :) This weekend, Erik and his dad are in Rexburg helping with the packing and moving from our house (yes it's still ours :( ) and we are scheduled to move in to our place in Vasaila on Saturday. I am very excited to start our life there. These past couple of weeks have been a bit stressful , b...

Whew! We made the looong drive to Stockton . We didn ’t leave Rexburg on Saturday until 8:30pm, and we were planning on stopping halfway and staying in a motel. Unfortunately, all of the motels from Battle Mountain to Winnemucca were totally booked. So finally, at 5:00 am we stopped at a Flying J and slept for 2 hours, then continued on, found a church in Auburn, and finally arrived in Stockton 17 ½ hours later. I’m soo glad that’s over! Our last week in Rexburg was as perfect as it could possibly be. I took Jackson to some of our favorite places, and we had a few dinners with some of our friends. On Friday night, one of our neighbors set up a good bye get together. We felt so loved J It was sad to leave, but we are excited for our next chapter. Our next chapter, thankfully, includes a job!! Erik got an offer for truss plant manager position (same thing he was doing for Stock) in Visalia , CA . It has been nothing short of a miracle how it ...
