3 Months

Image
If feels like this month has flown by, it doesn't seem like too much has changed with Anna since last month, but I'm sure it has and I just haven't noticed!  She's definitely more smiley and interactive as she is awake for a much bigger portion of the day. Her sleep continues to be irratic, which I guess for a 3 month old is typical.  I feel like Jackson and Wyatt at least went down for the night at around the same time each day (though they each had their own sleep issues for sure).  I seriously never know if Anna will go to sleep at 7:00, 9:00, or even midnight!  Some days she naps for only a few 10 or 15 minute stretches, and others she takes one very long nap.  I guess if there was a positive side it would be that each day I wake up with a tinge of anticipation and excitement, wondering what my "sleep day" has in store since no two are the same! Fortunaltey, she has started to sleep for longer stretches again.  The average long stretch this w...

T.G.I.F.

I just came downstairs from exercising to find this: I guess Scooby Doo didn't hold their attention like I thought it would!  I'm actually not too surprised that Wyatt fell asleep because for the last week Wyatt has been in the bunk bed with Jackson (he finally started getting out of his crib).  This means no naps and less sleep at night.  Jackson however, NEVER takes a nap, so this is all kind of exciting for me!! Not since the boppy has something totally rocked my nursing world.  Seriously, the kindle I got for Christmas is the easiest way to read while nursing a baby-- I love it! And guess who is 3 months old today??  Hopefully I'll have time to update about little miss Anna this weekend, because YAY it's Friday!!!

All the Small Things

It is certainly getting harder and harder to find time for blogging (much less preparing my YW lessons, bills, cleaning, showering, exercising, etc!).  Good thing we haven't done too many exciting things :)  Everyday Erik asks me how my day was as soon as he comes home.  It's usually the same: I have moments of perfect joy, moments of utter frustration and everything in between!  I'm sure it will be that way for a while.  One thing my life is not is boring. Yesterday for our Family Home Evening activity, the boys wanted to do a pretend birthday party for Erik.  They've been counting down the days until his birthday (which is the 30th of this month), I think because we've been saying for months now that Grammy, Poppy, Kaitlin, Toa, Kelsey, Jeremy, Adelyn, Bailey, Camia, Erin, James, Jadie, Paul, Danielle, and Peter will be with us when it's Daddy's birthday.  Jackson and I even made a paper chain to count down the days that has a fun a...

Paging Dr. Ross

Image
I wish I still had music up on my blog, because this post totally needs the theme song to ER (remember George Clooney's Dr. Ross??).  We did indeed go there on Friday.  Our first time taking a child to the ER, and let me to tell you, we were not missing out!  Wyatt was the patient after having gotten into a bottle of acetaphetamine.  That really was one of my worst fears too!  He came up to me and said, "I had some medicine!"  Wyatt has been using his imagination pretty much 24/7 lately (he's "the red spiderman" or he's a fire fighter rescuing people mostly), so I figured it was just that.  However, as I went into my room I saw the whole bottle scattered around the floor.  In horror, I asked Wyatt how many he took, and he told me two.  I called poison control and they said for his size, it would be dangerous if he took more than 6.  I was pretty confident he didn't take even close to that, as they were the bitter white kind, not the can...

Signs of Summer

Image
1. Playing in the sprinklers 2. Homemade juice pops 3. Getting heat exhaustion in the park (I really think Jackson did, he got so hot and sweaty and asked to go home early where he crashed) 4. Going to the neighborhood pool on opening day! 5. Falling asleep on the floor after swimming :) 6. Going out for ice cream 7. Making Anna smile (this is appropriate for all seasons!) Here's to a happy summer everyone :)
