Conference Weekend

Image
Well another conference weekend has come and gone.  I was really excited to be spiritually fed and I knew it was another learning opportunity for the kids as well.  Of course my kids don't take notes and pay attention to all four session perfectly.  I've found that having a couple of different tricks up my sleeve helps the weekend run a little smoother. One thing that's fun about conference is the fun food!  I wish my life didn't revolve around what kind of fun food we are going to eat, but it kind of does haha.  I went to Jimmy Johns and got their day old baguettes (which were still soft and delicious) and we had delicious subs, chips, and fruit for one of the sessions (the sister missionaries came over and watched that one with us).  The first session, I gave them their conference packets to color (which are never big hits, I always have to start with the lamest thing and work my way up). We also started something on the first session where I p...

T Ball

Wyatt finally had his first T-Ball practice a couple of weeks ago!  He has been able to go to half of them because for whatever reason the whole league has a practice on Sunday and then on another weekday.  This really bugged me, but anyway, Wyatt was so excited.  I loved it whenever I can see Wyatt do something on his own.  It's hard being the younger brother sometimes!

April Is Here!

So as any resident of Winchester (or reader of my blog) would know, this winter was so long and gross.  To finally see daffodils popping out of the ground (much, much later than they ever have by the way) was like a serious dose of Prozac for my soul. Wyatt has been asking to make homemade volcanoes for a while, so we finally shaped and baked some salt clay and had some baking soda/vinegar fun.  This summer I am planning on doing one little kid science project a week (we will see if that really happens!), so right now, I'm excited about all of the different ones out there. And of course if it's spring and its even mildly warm out, my kids will bust out of their swimsuits and the sprinkler at least once.  I know they were cold! Oh gosh I love my Wy-Guy and his presistence.  While we were waiting at the school to pick up Jackson one afternoon, Wyatt really wanted to master the monkey bars.  He kept trying and falling, and kept trying and falli...

Swag from Friends

We such wonderful, generous friends and family!  A couple of weeks ago while visiting the Clingermans (for Piper's awesome 4th My Little Pony Party!), they gave Anna was Doc McStuffins stuff that wasn't being played with.  She loves them!  And has slept with them most nights.  She also super into puzzles right now, so this was just about Anna-toy-heaven. :) And then we received these completely awesome shirts from the Hunt Family.  Josh teaches the neighborhood boys how to play rugby where they live in Roy, UT.  And so they sent these shirts that the kids ordered for their Rugby fun.  Aren't they cool?

March

One of Anna's birthday presents was Frozen!  We were so excited when it arrived in the mail on Tuesday!  We were good and held off to watch it until Jackson got home from school (I even let him work on his homework while it was on).  It was so much fun to watch!  And we've watched it quite a few times since then let me tell you.  Yes, we got to the point where even I was sick of this movie.  I'm sure after a nice, healthy break though, I will be happy to revisit it :) Erik was asked to come in to Julie Walton's seminary class and be a leprechaun.  Well since St. Patrick's Day was a snow day, he did it the day after.  As you can see Erik was very willing to go along with this.  Now that I'm going to teach seminary in the fall, I guess I will have to use his leprechaun talents in the future :) haha I think he is playing leap frog with them. The freshmen/sophmore class.  Three of them will move up to my junior/senior class...
