Catching Up

Image
Slowly, but surely I am catching up on this blog!  Woohoo :) Wyatt reminded me that is was Dr. Suess' birthday and he requested green eggs and ham.  We whipped some up really fast before school, but substituted turkey for the ham because that was I had!  I'm all for a chance to celebrate good books though!   Anna started gymnastics (its just at the rec center, so it's really just a beginning tumbling class).  She LOVES it, and its pretty adorable to watch. Erik's sisters, Kailtin and Erin surprised us with a new pizza cutter (apparently the one they used while they were at our house didn't pass muster haha)  When I told Erik I was going to take a picture of it with him, he gave me this face.  I love that goofy husband of mine! Of course the day after we picked up Jackson's new glasses, he found his old ones in a box labeled "basement books."  Not sure why the movers put his glasses there but whatever.  Now we have a back ...

Post Rewrite

Ugh I already wrote this post last week, then when I went to check on it a couple days later to fix any really bad spelling or grammar errors (and sometimes I never fix them haha) I noticed it wasn't there!  Grr . . . . Anyway, it still is so funny to me to see our "neighborhood deer" roaming around. Oscar Time

Image
The day after we came back from our cruise was Oscar Day!  I was so excited that some of my family were planning on coming over.  I don't feel like such a freak about movies and pop culture around my siblings because they are like me :)   This year I went ALL OUT and bought $10 worth of movie decoration from amazon :)  I figured with how much time I spend in thinking about themed food for Oscar night I might as well have a couple decorations on the wall haha Oh and this year since there was more than one reason in the running to win the Oscar pool (let's be honest, Erik has never beaten me), I bought first, second, and third place prizes.  First place was this bamboo plant (to represent The Tale of Princess Kayuga) and the first pick of candy.  Second prize won second pick of the candy and third prize won the remaining candy.  There was steep competition, let me tell you!  I think my Dad, Rebecca, Derrick, and myself w...
