Oh Boy, I've Got Joy

Image
Today was my second day teaching preschool.  I like the group we are in, and I really love being around kids this age.  We do the joy school curriculum one day, and a letter another day-- I like only having to plan one day :)  It's also so much fun to relive the joy school memories. The kids searching for their "e is for eggs"  As you can see Jackson is the only boy!  I guess I was never that concerned, because I knew we wouldn't be here for long, but it is really funny to hear them play.  Example: Jackson: "I'm going to be BATMAN, who wants to be the monster?!" silence one of the girls: "Um, I'm going to be a princess." all of the other girls chime in: "Yeah me too, I'm going to be a princess." They went onto to play Batman and princesses.  It was pretty funny.

Days to Savor

We had a great weekend, and now that's it's already Wednesday night I guess I can look forward to the next one already! It started off with a visit from Molly and her cute kids.  We had a fun time swimming and just hanging out.  I loved seeing how the kids were playing together.  Wyatt has been periodically saying "Mowee" or "Max"-- I think he misses them :)  I hope it's not too long before we can get together again! Erik got home Friday night and then let me sleep in until 9:30 in the morning on Saturday!!!  What a great birthday present.  Later in the evening, we went to the Red Lobster for my birthday dinner.  I had never had lobster before, but I loved it!  It was the perfect meal for my weird taste buds right now, because it wasn't too pungent and the only flavors were lemon and a little butter-- delicious! We also found out today that the we got the house we were trying to rent.  It is such a relief, and I'm so excited to...

My Welcome to Earth Day

Yesterday I turned 28!  I really wasn't expecting it to be a very good day.  I was worried I would be super sick, and miss Erik a ton, and since no one really knows it's my birthday here I was thinking I would just feel like a big birthday loser.  So anyway, I was having moments of feeling sorry for myself, especially because my last  birthday  wasn't too hot either (so annoying that I feel that way sometimes, when I think of all of my blessings!).  It turned out to be a really nice day though.  Birthdays have a way of making you feel special. One thing that helped my day a ton, was seeing Molly!  She just happens to be in Phoenix for Nick's friend's wedding (and his sister lives here).  She came over for lunch at the house which was just so sweet of her.  Thanks for coming Molly!!! Armed with a Baskin Robbins coupon, I told Jackson earlier in the week that we could pick out an ice cream cake for my birthday.  He was soooo excited...

I Don't Like Seeing Blood

I think it's really funny that we are only living in Arizona for the horrible summer and then leaving before the weather gets nice.  In so many ways it's like living through Rexburg winters where the kids are trapped in the house all day, because it is too miserable outside (except for swimming, just like in Rexburg there is playing in the snow).  Anyway, I've had to think of the my "indoor winter activities" that I did then like shaving cream painting.  The boys had a lot of fun with it today, and I really like the smell of shaving cream, so it was a win-win. Later in the afternoon, we did go swimming and had a lot of fun.  The pool is consistently cool enough now, even though it is still well above 100.  After an hour or so of having fun, of course something had to go wrong, and it did.  Wyatt was kicking a ball on the cement and ran to get it, slipped on a wet spot and smacked his head on the hard cement.  I felt so bad (and scared!)....

And He's Off

So the next time Erik is really living with us is when we are all in Winchester.  That seems so weird to me!  He will be home late Sunday night, but then he leaves Monday morning again.  Hopefully, he will find a house for us to move into next week while he's out there, and everything can run smoothly from there.  I'm hoping the boys and I move out the second week of October (the first week would be even better!) Erik came home a little early Wednesday and we were able to have some fun family swim time :)  The temperature is still in 107-108s, but for some reason the pool was actually really cool, it felt nice! This is probably something only a Mom would care about, but I loved Jackson's explanation of what he built with the baby blocks.  When I asked him what it was, he told me it was a movie theater.  He explained there was the big screen, then some seats for everyone, and in the back was the projector that plays the movie.  I thought it w...

Promethazine

I was wrong about turning a corner with my morning sickness-- no such corner was turned, in fact it was getting worse!  Luckily, I had a Dr. apt this week and I was able to get some medicine.  I was so reluctant to get something, because I just worry about how it will affect the baby.  However, the Dr. strongly assured me that it was completely safe, and I feel like it is unfair to Jackson and Wyatt for me to be so sick.  I thought it was funny that Dr. McKernnan said he would bet me "a cold diet Pepsi" that the baby is a girl because I've had such a tough time this go around.  That's not exactly a scientific conclusion, so we'll see . . . Our neighbor was passing out roses yesterday morning to everyone in the cul-de-sac.  She said she wanted to do something positive on September 11.  I thought it was really sweet.  This is a great neighborhood-- sad to leave it! For the last few weeks I have not being able to stand the sme...

Meet Virginia

Image
Well we made it back!  All in all it was a huge success because a) I never threw up and b) well mostly just A.  I really think I've turned a corner with my morning sickness; a lot of prayers were answered with this one! Anyway, we did have a good time in Winchester.  We mostly just drove around, trying to figure out where we would want to live.  I left Winchester being really excited about some things and less excited about others.  But that's how it is no matter where you live, there's always good with the bad.  I really didn't take any pictures.  I always forget!  I did take this one though of a pretty area right outside the town.  There is a lot of country feel to the place, which we both really like.  I have a feeling that I will want to live in a more typical suburban neighborhood in town.  However, if I already knew people there or the area better I might be adventurous enough to live someplace like this.  S...
