Happy Thanksgiving!

Image
More Christmas decorating.  Erik put the hooks in the fireplace mantel.  When I saw pictures of how the mantel looked when we moved in, it made me so appreciative of how hard Erik has been working to make improvements.  The picture below was after we took down the really ugly wood one and put up the cream one. Jackson wanted me to take a picture of his Duplo village before we put them away.  I love it when I bring up toys and all three get engaged in them for hours! On Wednesday I picked the boys up early, so we could get to Orem on time for our movie (well actually we had to make a stop first to get the boys' Christmas sweaters).  I like Wyatt's Thanksgiving hat and thought it was funny how excited Jackson was to bring his school lunch in the car (it was soft pretzel day, his favorite!). Good Dinosaur!  We met the Madsens (minus Kathryn and Nora and Derrick).  It was a really great movie.  It make me happy that we had just go...

It's Beginning To Look Alot Like Christmas

Erik and I were invited to go to a Jazz game with a costumer of ProBuild's.  It was so fun!  It was both Erik and my first NBA game.  The Jazz aren't that great of a team, but luckily they did win this game :) I was very impressed with myself when I recognized one of the dancers from SYCYCD!  He was the guy from Lehi that made it to the final round in Vegas and he served a mission in a friend's area.  Anyway, it looked like the guys (including this one) was just for this one latin dance they did.  To be honest, I was a little underwhelmed with the Jazz dancers.  I would think with how talented Utah is, they would be more impressive.  I was also a little disappointed by the lack of hip hop music during the game in general.  Like don't they realize that pumps up a crowd more than other types of music?? Oh man the mascot (I can't remember his name) was ruthless!  He kept spraying silly string on kids that looked like they wo...

Fun Stuff

I did my first snowy run!  It wasn't too bad.  The scariest part was the slippery side walk.  I quickly figured out that running on the street (like the bike lane) was much grippier.  The week after, I did another snowy run, but that one was awful because I had no eye protection on (like sunglasses) and the wind was blowing shards of ice into my eye!  It seriously hurt.  Lesson learned about that one! I took Jackson to the eye doctor at Costco, so he could update his eye glass prescription and get contacts!  He was very excited about getting contacts! But, there has been a learning curve for sure.  We have a couple of very frustrating mornings where he tries and tries and can't get them in.  That only lasted a few days, and now he is a pro.  I knew he turned a corner when while we were out and about and his contact accidently fell out, he was able to re-moisturize them with a solution we quickly bought at Walmart and then pu...

Weekend with Amanda, Erik's Return, and Back to School

Image
I was so excited to see Amanda who was visiting Utah for a family friend's wedding (she is actually a friend of mine too, because she is the first one to cut my hair after having Anna haha).  Anyway, on Friday night Sydney and Logan babysat and Amanda and I did some fun shopping: American Girl store and Disney store (to check out anything for our runDisney race).  We also ate some Chinese food and just generally had a great time!  The next morning we went on a walk (I wanted to run, but flaked out because I was running on very little sleep and just didn't want to).  Then she was off to her wedding duties. These gorgeous flowers came as part of the surprises Erik left. :) I met her down in Provo for the reception.  She spent the night again and then she took off the next morning.  It's so crazy that she had to take this trip right in the midst of moving from West Virginia to North Carolina!  I now how stressful moving is-- I am so happ...
