Merry Christmas!

Image
Oh boy if there is ever a time to take too many pictures, it is Christmas time.  It's fun to look through them now (just a day later) and decide what to include in the blog.  I left out a ton and anyone that isn't closely related to us will find this boring, I'm sure . . . oh well!  We had a great Christmas.  At times it was bitter sweet for me, because I really missed being in CA, but there were also some great advantages to it "just being us."  (The picture above was taken Thursday.  I was downstairs cleaning, and Jackson came down and "presented" Wyatt.  They had gotten into some adorable baby girl clothes my sister sent.  They both thought they were pretty clever for putting Wyatt in a "santa suit.") Starting our Christmas Eve program.  Growing up, it was always a tradition to have a little program where everybody contributes something, whether performing a Christmas song, reciting a Christmas poem, leading some sort of game, etc. ...

Holiday Fun

A cute girl in our ward that babysat the kids brought us this M&M cookie mix.  Jackson was so happy to FINALLY be able to bake them up.  The other day Wyatt woke up sick, but it also happened to be snowing.  Jackson really wanted to go out and play, and I told him he could by himself in the backyard.  He did and had a blast.  Wyatt and I had fun staying cozy in the house watching through the window :) During FHE Monday.  Jackson did the lesson that night and did a super job! Friday was the ward Christmas party.  Jackson was COUNTING down the days.  He was so excited to see Santa (the first year he was happy to be with him!).  Wyatt was excited until he actually saw Santa.  He was crying when Erik started to even ask him if he wanted to sit on Santa's lap.  So . . . Wyatt watched from a distance. Last night we went to the temple to see the Christmas lights.  They were so beautiful, but next year we will not go the Saturd...

My Cop-Out Christmas Letter

Image
I have LOVED getting people's Christmas Cards this year-- they are so much fun.  Every time I walk past the past the spot where they are all displayed I get such a happy little feeling.  However, I have decided to give myself a pass this year on doing them.  I had a really cute idea of us posing in front of a moving truck b/c that is pretty much been our whole year, but between my ongoing morning sickness and everything else that's been going on, I really just want to enjoy Christmas as much I can even if that means not doing everything we usually do.  So, because I haven't had a chance to do a year end review type letter, I'm going to do it right here.  Feel free not to read this, because it's really just for me anyway :) Our year has been CRAZY!  We lived in Visalia, CA until April.  We lived in Avondale, AZ in a little apt. until the end of July.  And then in our house in Glendale, AZ until the end of October.  And now we live in Winches...

First Snow!

Image
It finally snowed here!  I was really hoping that it would snow before Christmas, because Jackson was just really counting on it.  On Friday morning, they looked out the window and were so happy to see it falling. We quickly got bundled up and played.  It was nothing like we got in Rexburg, but it was still fun . . .  . . . if only to see how excited the boys were! They loved throwing snowballs at me! I'm really glad we went out right away, because within a couple of hours it was pretty much all melted!  I'm happy that I still haven't had to drive on icy roads though! Here's a short video of the boys playing: And last night was movie night.  We watched the Jim Carey Christmas Carol (well Jackson watched almost the whole thing and Wyatt watched about 1/4 of it!).  Good times :)
