Before the Parade Passes By

Image
Monday night we went to Winchester's Holiday parade.  I just love parades.  I remember last year, reading about this parade in the newspaper, and thinking next year we are so there.   Thinking those thoughts helped get me through my 9 months of feeling sicker than sick. We got this backpack from Erik's parents when Jackson was born, and I honestly think that other than our carseat, we have not used anything more with our babies.  They looove the backpack- it is lifesaver. Wyatt's favorite was the Winnie the Pooh float.  My favorite were the million marching bands.  Marching bands are great. Poor Wyatt has been falling asleep late in the afternoon, and he always has a really tough time after waking up.  It's funny how children just change the way they sleep every few months. Clay, Jackson, and Taryn.  It was fun seeing a few families from our stake there at the parade.  I think Mormons have a special radar for seeking out other Mor...

On the Road Again

Our drive home wasn't too memorable . . . just long.  It always seems like the drive home from vacation is harder.  You've lost your vacation enthusiasm and the kids are little more sick of traveling.  It wasn't terrible, just not quite as easy as the way up. On a 350 mile drive, my love/hate relationship with technology is firmly in the  love category! Anna didn't have much more to entertain her than this sippy cup of water . . . poor girl Half way home, there is a Cabelas in Pennsylvania.  It was a great place to stop for a while.  The boys often loved going to Cabelas in Arizona.  This one had a bigger African animal display which was cool. Oh this animatronic guy is the bane of my Cabela existence.  Since  every Cabelas is set up very similarly, as soon as we walked near the place he was at, Wyatt knew exactly what awaited him and he really freaked out.  I have to admit he is pretty freaky.  His head...

Sayville

We arrived in Sayville at C.J.'s and Danielle's house, around 10:00.  They really are such great family.  C.J. is New York City firefighter, and Danielle is an 8th grade biology teacher- what society contributing jobs, right??  Their daughter, Delaney, is almost exactly Jackson's age.  And Dillon their son is 4, so the boys had such a great time with them.  We really didn't have to do much with the boys at all, as they just played and played.  While I caught a few wonderful winks with Anna, all of the boys took a boat ride.  Danielle lives in the same house the Erik's Dad grew up in (and that she grew up in too) that sits right on the canals that leads to the bay.  Jackson told me that they live in a house that has streets made of water just like a place on Little Einsteins.  I thought it was funny when I realized Jackson was talking about Venice, Italy- go Little Einsteins for teaching my kids about Venice :) Dill...
