Preschool and More Moves

Image
Today was Jackson's first day of our co-op preschool.  I'm really excited, because we are doing in part the actual joy school cirriculum.  I hope they still have the "gunny sack" song! It was really nice being able to have one on one time with Wyatt.  We hung out at the library.  I think he was surprised he was able to play computer games by himself without fighting anyone (Jackson) off. So onto other news . . . it looks like we might be moving to Virginia.  Crazy, huh?  I've pretty much decided our life can't get any crazier, so why bother stressing-- at least that's what I'm trying to do.  I've definitely had my moments of stress though.  Some people in Erik's company really want him to manage a plant about 70 miles east of Washington D.C., and since this Phoenix plant may be closing anyway it's pretty much a no brainer.  The fact that for now, we even have a job in the building industry in this horrible economy is a huge blessing (ha...

What Really Matters

I feel really guilty about my last post.  This is what happens when an over-sharer like myself gets a hold of her  blog while feeling crummy.  Especially after hearing about this horrible tragedy  in Visalia, I realize how small and insignificant my problems are.  I'm so thankful for the innumerable blessings that are mine.  Most importantly an eternal companion that supports and loves me, and two absolutely wonderful, smart, joyous children (with one more on the way!).  If I have to deal with a few lousy weeks of morning sickness, so be it.  I'm a very lucky girl. Playing a game with the fam this afternoon.  We were struck with how weird it was that we were able to have family dinner and be together while a good family is grieving.  It really just makes me want to hug them tighter. Wyatt has figured out how to use the doggy door.  I don't love that he does this, but I must admit it's pretty funny.

Ugh

So, this week has been . . . tough.  My morning sickness really kicked into high gear.  Most days I have thrown up multiple times.  On those days my mothering has consisted of little more than slapping peanut butter sandwiches together and popping in a new DVD.  I feel ungrateful to complain, because I am really thankful I can even get pregnant.  However . . . I complain.  I know this time will pass.  I'm really counting on this sick phase being done in the second trimester!  However, since each pregnancy has been so different, I really don't know.  If there's anyone I feel as bad for as myself :), it's Erik.  He's been dealing with a lot of stress at work (more on that to come), and then he comes right home and helps me in any way he can.  If he's not doing that he's doing something for the Scouts.  He is such a great guy! The trick right now is, finding joy in this long, sick journey. . . easier said than done :) I ...

Our Newest Bun in the Oven

Well, we're getting ready to welcome a baby next spring.  We are super excited!  I have to admit something though, I really don't enjoy being pregnant.  The throwing up (which just started a couple of days ago), the insomnia (so weird-- it only happens while I'm pregnant), the heart burn, the 60 + lbs. I gain each time (and the hard work it takes to lose it afterwards!), however, as soon as I saw this little guy (or girl) on the ultrasound Friday, it just made everything worth it.  It is such a miracle.  I'm just under 10 weeks now, so I have a loooong way to go, but I already can't wait to meet this little one!

California Trip

Last week we had the opportunity to drive to Livermore for Paul (Erik's brother) and Danielle's wedding.  It was a long drive, but well worth it.  Because I'm feeling a little lazy I'm just going to make one long post out of it. Look at the cute couple.  The very first day I went to the Nyholm's house, Danielle was actually there.  They were "dating" in middle school.  They actually dated other people in high school and the first part of college, and then got back together.  What a great story for their kids! :) hanging out at the temple A yummy lunch at Chevy's in Livermore At the reception.  It was decorated so beautifully, had good food, and perfect weather.  I didn't really see Erik at all though, because of course he was going from table to table chatting it up :) On Sunday afternoon, we drove down to Stockton to visit my parents and Laurel.  Like I often do, I totally forgot to take pictures!  It was really nice seeing them tho...

All in a Week's Work

Wow, I think this is the longest that I haven't posted for a while!  Things have just been really crazy with the house and everything.  A couple of good things though, I found a co-op preschool to join, so Jackson can actually be in preschool his last year before kindergarten!  This same time last year we moved to Visalia, so I feel like every year we have been scrambling to find a preschool for him.  At least he got a good year of preschool in at BYU-I when he was 3 :)  I am looking forward to being with this group though. Also, there has been a baby boom in our family.  Kathryn welcomed Henry last month, Erin welcomed Jadie last Thursday, and Rebecca welcomed Joshua last Friday.  I'm so excited to have two more nephews and one more niece to love, it is always a miracle! While my Mom was helping out the Winsborrows- post Joshua, she took Andrew, Alex, Ethan, and Owen down to our house for a couple of days.  It was so much fun!  I'm reall...

One Weekend, Three Living Arraignments

Image
So I don't have too much time to blog, but thought I would do a quick update of our moving weekend.  First of all I wanted to post this pic of Wyatt trying to drink the rain that came last week.  It was the first time it's really rained here since we came to Arizona, and it was so weird.  Hot, muggy, rain.  All packed up and ready to go.  Friday was our last night in the apt (hallelujah!) One last goodbye To avoid having to pay into the new month, Saturday and Sunday night we stayed in a hotel (it was a lot cheaper surprisingly).  Wyatt was having lots of fun jumping on the bed. So Monday morning, as I was showering, I felt like the conditioner was making my hair feel really weird.  Well, that's because I dumped a bottle of lotion on my hair . . . FYI, that doesn't work well. Monday we finally moved in!  I took these pictures after a full day of unpacking and cleaning if you can believe it.  They look really bad, but they give you a tas...
