September

Image
September is one of my favorite months (no surprise there, right?).  I love that back to school excitement.  I love the dry, cool air that comes in.  I even love the unpredictable weather, where one day you will be bundled up and the next sweating in shorts! Last week, we seemed to have more hot days than the normal September, so we were getting more use out of our summer wardrobe. :)  I love, love, love my mornings with these two.   So overall I feel like my kids are at a pretty "easy" age, but then I'll have an episode like this one and think maybe not! . . . The kids and I came to have lunch with Jackson on a day Wyatt didn't go to preschool.  Oh my gosh, was that unpleasant.  The boys were being sooo silly, which normally is fun and fine, but it just went above and beyond and I was just so worn out by the end of that lunch.  I think I will have lunch with Jackson during a preschool day next time.  Two boys running amo...

Random

Image
I thought it was the funniest thing when I was glancing through a random catalog after getting the mail one day and I saw Molly's daughter Jessica!  I vaguely remember Molly saying something about her being asked if a friend could take her kids' pictures, but I hadn't ever know they make it into an actual thing! :) It was fun to see. I finally realized that I could just dump all of my garden tomatoes with a little water, onions, and garlic and simmer it down into a sauce, then portion freeze it.  It's a great way to go through the late summer crop! A couple of weeks ago, we drove over to have lunch with Jackson and I turned around to find Wyatt like this! And then later that day, on the way to Jackson's dental apt., I found Anna like this!  I knew she needed that nap, so like a true oldest child, Jackson was just sent in by himself to get his first cavity filling ever (I did walk him in and talk with the dental assistant, but still!) Jackson real...

Friday night

Image
A couple of Fridays ago, Jackson was invited to a party. As sometimes happens, this was kind of hard on Wyatt.  I had been wanting to check out the new Chuck E Cheese that was built here, so it turned out great with all of the kids super pumped for their super fun Friday night :) After Chuck E Cheeses we went to our very first Milbrook High School game! It was a lot of fun, hopefully we can get to another one before the season is over.

Barbie Issues

Image
OK I know I need to stop posting all of these pictures of Anna playing with babies in our Family Room, but that is our life right now, so if nothing else this blog is a perfect representative of what my life is always like! hahaha  Oh, the joys and sorrows of social media. ANYWAY, Anna was pretty excited about the bag of old Barbies my Mom gave me. The boys found it in the basement the other day and gave it to Anna.  So guess what I realized?  I do not like Barbies!  If it weren't for the absolutley gorgeous Barbie clothes that my Grandmother sewed that is in that Barbie bag, I would just toss them all.  As it is, I guess I just need to keep thinking about how to handle it. And of course, I had to include these adorable pics of Wyatt with baby Tiana.  I seriously want to hang these up, I love them so much.

Soccer

Image
Jackson had his first soccer game a week and a half ago.  He did great!  I think he enjoys it more than he did last time he did soccer (when he was 5).  We really like his coach who is suuuuuuuper  enthusiastic-- just what a bunch of  7 year olds need!

Robert and Janet

Image
After Uncle Dennis' wedding, Robert and Janet took the travel trailer around on a two week trip (retirement looks pretty dang good on those two!).  On their return, we got a babysitter and went out to dinner! The kids were totally spoiled by their Grammy and Poppy.  Little presents for all of the kids like it was Christmas :)  Wyatt was pretty proud of his dinosaur skeleton puzzle that after having helped him for a bit before giving up in frustration was put together than the man who gave him the present  (double nice!). I can't remember if it was Wyatt or Jackson that had my phone when I asked them to take a picture of all my freshly picked tomatoes, but this was it :) We decided to spread the tomato love by walking through the neighborhood and dropping a bag off to a few families. Like father, like son For some reason, Anna had been begging all day to go in the back of the truck, so when we finally let her she was pretty pleased! ...
