Last Day of Seminary

Image
Well my seminary journey came to an end the Friday before Thanksgiving.  It was so sad to say goodbye to these kids that I have come to love!  My testimony has been strengthened so much of the restored gospel and of the prophetic mission of Joseph Smith.  I'm so thankful for the blessing that came to our whole family (because the whole family definitely sacrificed for this calling!).  I'm not going to lie and say a part of me isn't relieved to have this burden lifted, because there is that part for sure.  But as with any service, you get way more than you give! The last day was spent playing scripture mastery games which are my favorite!  We did 4 fun games and I wrote them each a letter and gave me them a plate of cookies.  Hopefully some of them will come out to Utah for college and I can see them! So pretty much in November all of our moving craziness was definitely catching up to us.  Stress was just a normal part of our days, but laughing and being silly with my kids kept me sane I know.  Around these time, Anna discovered a Toca Boca game where you add a selfie and then style yourself.  It kept us laughing. Checking out the giant plushes at Costco.   Seriously this is what we did at least once a day! I guess I only had videos of this one, but I remember one evening cracking up that the kids were acting out Jimmy Fallon's "Ew skits."      We went laser tagging with the Lawson family.  Sam Lawson was Jackson's best friends in Winchester and I just adore that family!  Stefan is from England and his job takes them all over the world (they have lived in South Africa, Portugal, England, and Texas :), so Jackson's love of geography really gets kindled when...

Battlefield Half Marathon

When I first found out that Winchester was hosting it's first half marathon, I was so happy!  Especially because it was at the perfect time of year (early November).  However, life and seminary got in the way of a good, consistent training schedule and so I was not as prepared as I would have liked.     I was very happy to have Amanda to run with me!  She is seriously the best running partner.  I'm sure I slowed her a down, but being able to talk with her made the miles go by so much faster!      Along with Amanda, my super awesome playlist kept me going.  I was overjoyed when I'll Make a Man Out of You shuffled on during the last mile!  The perfect pick-me-up   Always feels good to get that medal! :)       I honestly don't really remember why I brought the kids to the mall arcade, but for some reason I did and I'm sure they were happy about it!   ...
