A Post About Moving

Image
Exhausted.  That is what I am.  Hopefully, come next November, we will have stayed stationary for more than 12 months.   That will be the first time since July 2009- I am so ready to just stay .  Anyway, in my exhausted, tired state I am going to do a blog post that is the equivalent of a very large run on sentence (which let's be honest, I'm the queen of run on sentences). First up birthday:  I turned 29 last week!  Wahoo, last year of my twenties.  I think I'm really happy to be moving into my thirties.  My day started out great with Erik going into a work a tad late and letting me get a run in.  I also loved waking up to this cute card Jackson made for me. Andrea took the boys in the afternoon, so I could pack.  When I went to pick them up, she had these delicious   and beautiful cupcakes for me, along with super cute cards that all of the kids made.  So sweet!!!!! We got a babysitter to stay with the b...

Good Morning!

Oh Wyatt, how did you know that I wanted to wake up to a kitchen floor covered in white flour?  At least I got my thigh muscles going for the day with all of the squats to sweep the very many piles of flour into the dust pan! :)

6 Months

Image
Wow!  I can't believe Anna is 6 months old already.  I have not had a chance to take cutesy 6 month pictures, so I thought I would at least put up some snap shots that have been taken over the last couple of weeks and give a quick update (Of course Anna looks cute no matter what!). She continues to be a very easy going baby.  I'm sure it's a combination of her personality and benefiting from being the third and having lots of action to look at, but I can set her down on the floor with a few toys and she will stay happy that way for quite a while.  My boys were never like that, so it's quite the change.  I can actually clean the kitchen or cook dinner while she's awake!   Sometimes, I tell myself to stop what I'm doing and play with her though, because if I waited until she complained I wouldn't get too much play time with her!  As long as she's rested and fed, she's a happy baby. We started feeding her solids a few days ago, and true to her ea...

Welcome Fall

Image
I feel like we've had a really busy week and I know it's just going to get much crazier this week as we are moving in 9 days!  The highlight of the week was probably going to Jackson's back to school night on Thursday.  It was so cute to see the pride in Jackson's face as he showed us the things he has created at school and explained the things they do in class every day.  So far, I really really like his teacher, Mr. Comstock. This week has seen another change in the weather.  It seems we are welcoming fall and I have been, with open arms.  I've loved the crisp, cool morning air during our walks to school, and rediscovering my love of soup as I do every fall (this week's: creamy butternut and acorn squash soup).  Saturday's weather however, was a little too cool.  Jackson's game was drizzly and COLD!  Toward the end, it turned into a full on rain.  Erik and I came in separate vehicles, because he had some things to do before and was of...

Game Day/ Inspection Day

Image
Jackson had his first game on Saturday.  It was fun and entertaining to watch as young kids playing soccer usually is.  Most of the times it looked like Jackson's team was waiting for the other team to say it was their turn with the ball.  Unfortunately, the other team got the " be aggressive memo", and they were not giving up that ball :)  I know he still had fun though, and I LOVE his coaches and their emphasis on having fun and being safe.  Yesterday and today, I kept hearing Jackson teach Wyatt to put his arm out and yell, "Gooooo Purple Dragons!" While Anna and I were watching Jackson play, Erik and Wyatt were at the second house inspection in as many weeks for a house we are buying.  This time we are hoping to go all the way with the purchase (Our real estate agent assured me that the owners are not smokers nor ever have been, haha) We are buying the house that is two doors down from the one we...

Entertainment Tonight

Oh, how I love my funny Wyatt.  He is one of the best forms of entertainment I know.  This video is typical of what he does whenever he hears a "rock song."  Too bad the lighting makes it hard to see his very intense expressions :) Untitled from Jenny Nyholm on Vimeo .

Good Morning Baltimore

Image
Yesterday for Labor Day, we took a much needed family day trip to the National Aquarium in Balitmore.  We really hadn't done anything "fun" (other than picnics and parks) since our family reunion vacation in June, so it was about time.  The drive there took about 1 hour and 45 minutes or so.  We made one lunch stop, so I could feed Anna.  The boys were OK, but boy do I miss our van DVD player (it is broken).  After about an hour, I finally gave Jackson my ipod nano that has a Mickey Mouse episode and let Wyatt look at Erik's android phone that has a netflix app on it.  We are weak parents!  It was my first time ever in Baltimore, and I really liked it! The moment we were really in the city, I blasted "Good Morning Baltimore" from Hairspray, and sang along.  For some reason Erik didn't join in :), but seriously that might have been the highlight of the day for me.  I wanted to take a picture of both boys by the boats...
