First Day of School

Image
Pancakes, strawberries, and whipped cream were the requested first day of school breakfast.  Wyatt was the first to get ready.  Ironically, he really didn't have his official first day of school until the next day.  Here they have the first graders sign to go with their parents to a little 15 minute orientation sometime that day.  I think this was great for Wyatt, because it made the first day of school not so scary for him.  He was super excited to drop Jackson and Anna off and then check out his class :) And my sleepy-head Anna girl had to be woken up in time to take the boys to school!  Her preschool doesn't start until 9:00, so if we walk the boys to school, we can squeeze in her breakfast and a quick brush through her hair after we get back.   Jackson was pretty excited too I think.  He was mourning the loss of lazy summer days, but I think he was ready to start the new year.   I love these three so much! ...

Ward Campout

Well now it's been too long, I can't remember if this was a long run I did on my own or with the group of ward members that run together.  Honestly, they just run waaay too early for me!  My ideal time is to wake up at 6:30 and get out to run at about 7:00.  They leave at 5:30 or earlier if its a very long run.   That afternoon we drove out to the ward campout.  It was in kind of a weird place.  It wasn't very pretty and there was no water source, which we weren't planning on.  We had like one jug of water for us and Maverick!  Luckily some friends smarter than us had water to share :) The kids were very excited to sleep in the tent!  I was missing our trailer however! Erik isn't too keen to get another one, because he feels like we didn't use it enough in Virginia, but the few times a year we would use it was so nice! There was a little reservoir that was fun for the kids.  A couple of families brought can...

Hogle Zoo (or as the boys call it, Hobo Zoo)

We were all so excited to squeeze one last fun day trip before school starts.  This time, to the zoo!  The Hunts met us there which was a huge added bonus! First animal spotted was a big snake that the kids got to touch.           I love seeing these cute girls together so much!      So I seriously had a feeling I would run into a Virginia friend at the zoo.  When I first walked in, I thought I saw a friend from our play group, Brittany Mitchell (it wasn't her) BUT, while we were watching the kids play in the water in the splash area I heard someone call my name and it was Ashley and Emma Evans!  It's so fun to run into friends! :)                           Well, obviously I'm not doing a very good job of captioning every picture haha  This handsome kid des...
