Halloween: Phase One

Image
On Saturday, we went trick or treating at the downtown walking mall.  It was great seeing the kids dressed up.  I will say I was less than thrilled with all of the smoke I had to breath in though!  There are so many more smokers here in VA than any other place we have lived.  Times like these, makes me pine for the "government take-over laws" of California that make it near impossible for people to smoke there :) Getting all ready.  So on Friday Wyatt decided to not be Wolverine, like he'd been planning for the past month and a half, and instead be a cowboy.  I wasn't going to fight it however, because we had everything for a cowboy costume already (Jackson was one when he was 4). A little later I realized I had put on his chaps backwards, haha they didn't last on Wyatt for long anyway. handsome cowboy! Jackson was still ready to be Wolverine.   Scary claws! My Week

Monday mornings always come too fast, however is it bad that when I dress Anna in a cute outift it brightens my day? On Monday evening, we "enjoyed" some cupcakes (and dinner) with the missionaries for over THREE hours!  I won't get into the whole long story, but from my bad attitude you can tell I didn't expect for our whole evening to be taken up that way :) Tuesday for playgroup we went to a nice farm market to enjoy their pumpkin patch (photo courtesy of  Amanda's instagram, ha). It was nice to finally pick out our pumpkins for the year. That evening, we had our family pictures taken.  That is always a little stressful, so as a reward/bribe we went to IHOP for dinner. Last week was the library's Harvest Festival.  It was pretty cute, and fun to bring Jackson to the library (he never gets to go, because we always go while he is in school). Thursday was Jackson's first all day field trip. He was sooooo excited....

Chaser Time!

Last Sunday, we did our little family celebration for Wyatt's birthday.  This kid continued to be easy for me and he requested- no joke- Kraft macaroni and cheese with hot dogs! haha definitely not my favorite, but it was easy for sure! :) We also let the kids drink soda that was left over from the party, which always makes them pretty excited. After dinner we started Wyatt's chaser.  He loved being the birthday boy, and therefore being the leader of the chaser. Opening presents time!  He got some pretty cool gifts from everyone this year- this kid is still on his birthday high playing with everything! This is the first year he received actual money from family members, and you may as well have given a million dollars with how rich he felt :) Anna was loving his play tent.
