Trying to Fit It All In
Well last week was crazy and I have to say I'm kind of happy it's over. Not that it was bad, it was a great week filled with doing things I love, but it also just left me tired :)
Erik went to New Orleans for a few days, but before he did we were able to watch Tuesday's debate together. I guess our bipartisan energy didn't make it through the television screen, because MAN was that a tense debate!
After Erik and I took our picture, we took a couple more.
We tried doing a family shot with the timer, but the shot wasn't quite wide enough :)
These three pictures of the kids crack me up for some reason.
So Erik had a good time at his trade conference in New Orleans. I have to say I was a little jealous hearing about all of the delicious Cajun food he was eating and listening to all of the musicians on Bourbon Street!
Over on the home front, we stayed busy with Women In Excellence on one night, and a Relief Society activity on the other. Thursday morning I was able to get a little break by going to a hair appointment which felt so good, especially because Anna refused to take any naps last week!!
On Friday, Jackson had an early dismissal day so we decided to go to a movie. It was the first time I had taken the kids by myself, so I was happy that our friends Amanda and Piper met us (having another adult there is nice for moral support)
All four kids lined up :)
Earlier that day, Wyatt helped me make his monster truck cake. This was my kind of cake, because it was all about being muddy and messy-- less of a chance to mess up!
Erik came home Friday night at around 9:00. We worked on cleaning and decorating the house and were luckily done by about 10:00. So happy we didn't have to stay up so late!
Table all ready for Wyatt's birthday breakfast (kind of lucked out that Wyatt insisted he wanted Cocoa Puffs for his birthday breakfast and not the waffles we usually do!)
Jackson's last football game was Saturday morning at 9:00. Erik took Anna to the game while Wyatt and I stayed at home and did last minute preparations for his party.
So sad I missed him getting his trophy!
Proud of this boy. His coach commented to Erik and I at his last practice that he had improved a ton. Last week, he got his first touchdown (can't remember if I mentioned that on here) and on Saturday he pulled some flags. I think he learned more teamwork and how to follow directions. Go Jackson!
After the football game, the party began (post on that to follow)! Immediately after the party, I gave a talk at a new Beehive's baptism while Erik cleaned up (sorry Erik I had the better job on that one!). A couple hours later, Erik went up early to the Elder's Quorum bonfire to set up while I prepared my Beehive lesson. Once I was finally up there, I felt like we could finally hang out a bit and enjoy the beauty of the area!
Wyatt telling me a story-- love that he picked out rain boots to wear.
Haha it looks like I'm dropping Anna. She was playing her favorite game of climb on top of and jump off and fall off of Mommy :)
The bonfire was at the Williams' place. Brother Williams had a big pile of branches to burn, which was pretty exciting for all of the kids to see!
Enjoying the warmth of the fire.
After we got home we watched half of Snow White and the Huntsman (which both Erik and I really liked actually) and looked forward to a nice relaxing Sunday!
