Runaway Baby

We made it!  Our day of travel went so much better than I thought it was going to.  It was an early start (we woke up at 3:30-that's 12:30 am CA time!!), but we got our bags checked in and onto the plane without any problem. This picture sums up the excitement that was running through our family! I had listened to a Talk of the Nation program of tips for flying with young children.  One of them was bringing dollar store prizes to open during needed times.  We had prizes for the boys for after take off and once they make you turn off all devices and that really helped.  Oh and the soda and snack they get on the plane helped. Anna taking her nap Wyatt taking his.  We had a short layover in Salt Lake.  Before our next flight even took off, Wyatt fell asleep and didn't wake up until we touched down in San Francisco. So happy to be here!!!!!!!

O Tidings of Comfort and Joy

Image
Around here, it's been a little light on the comfort tidings. We've all been sick. Jackson had a double ear infection, Wyatt and Anna have had fevers, and bad cold with crusty eyes that were just so sad looking. And yesterday I started with really bad body aches and chills, fever, and nausea- fun!!! I just hope we all are better before we leave Tuesday morning! On Friday the ward had a Christmas party for all of the primary kids.  Erik was really excited to drop off the boys and go out to dinner with a couple of friends.  However, that was the peak of Wyatt's sickness so we took him with us.  So we are still looking forward to a time we can go to a restaurant without the kids :)  Jackson had a really great time at the party.  He's getting so independent and old! Saturday was the adult ward Christmas party (let the record state, I am not a fan of ward Christmas parties that aren't for the whole family!), I had lined up a babysitter to watch the kids but had t...

Christmas Is Coming, The Goose Is Getting Fat

Image
Well, Christmas is indeed coming.  I can't believe it's coming so fast though!  I was feeling kind of overwhelmed with everything that we need to do in the next two weeks before we head out to CA (overwhelmed in a good way though, they are all fun things after all!) and then I got "reminded" that Erik and I are to give talks this Sunday in sacrament meeting.  This was a total surprise to us, but the counselor in the bishopric thought we knew (it's a long story).  Anyway, that kind of thing really stresses me out, so I'm determined to just go with the flow and enjoy everything that is going on- even the preparing of a talk :)  My stresses are all relative though, compared to what many are having to face this week, this is soooo nothing! Here are some of our happenings over the past few days: On Friday afternoon, we had some friends over to make gingerbread houses. Am I surprised that both of my boys are in superhero costumes while doing this activit...

Before the Parade Passes By

Image
Monday night we went to Winchester's Holiday parade.  I just love parades.  I remember last year, reading about this parade in the newspaper, and thinking next year we are so there.   Thinking those thoughts helped get me through my 9 months of feeling sicker than sick. We got this backpack from Erik's parents when Jackson was born, and I honestly think that other than our carseat, we have not used anything more with our babies.  They looove the backpack- it is lifesaver. Wyatt's favorite was the Winnie the Pooh float.  My favorite were the million marching bands.  Marching bands are great. Poor Wyatt has been falling asleep late in the afternoon, and he always has a really tough time after waking up.  It's funny how children just change the way they sleep every few months. Clay, Jackson, and Taryn.  It was fun seeing a few families from our stake there at the parade.  I think Mormons have a special radar for seeking out other Mor...
