Middle of June

We have been fortunate this past week to get a visit from Grammy and Poppy!  They flew in last Sunday morning from a red eye.  It didn't take long for the kids to start rough housing with Poppy :)  I really feel so blessed that our parents are willing to make the trip out here to see us.  I love seeing the kids strengthen their relationships with them and benefit from this time spent with those that love them :) We were able to hang out Sunday and then Monday, they drove down to North Carolina for a while to go to Janet's niece's wedding.  I sent this picture to Erik on Tuesday, because literally every second of that morning for several hours one of the three was crying.  It was One Of Those Days. Pretty Anna girl asking me to go in the backyard.  She always wants to be outside. One day last week, I finally got my act together and walked the kids down to the pool.  Once we got there, we found it be closed! ...

Schools Out For Summer!

Jackson's last day of kindergarten was yesterday.  I'm so happy to see him growing up and learning new things, but thinking about him going to school all day next year is super sad.  He did have a  really great experience this year.  He's made some great friends and had wonderful teachers.  What more could I want?  On Tuesday, his class had a special movie day to watch Charlotte's Web.  Mr. Comstock read the book to the class the past couple of months and Jackson really loved the book.  It made me realize that I could read chapter books to them (I had tried a couple of years ago, but Jackson's attention span wasn't all that great).  We started the Mouse and the Motorcyle by Beverly Cleary and both boys love it.  But anyway, Jackson was excited to wear his pajamas and bring a pillow to school.  Wyatt thought that was pretty cool too, so while Jackson was at school we watched Enchanted and ate popcorn....

Sky Meadow State Park

On Sunday afternoon we took a drive out to Sky Meadow State Park. Erik often drives by it for work, so he wanted to check it out.  And of course, anytime we are going somewhere and I happen to have a camera with me . .. I take a lot of pictures :) This place was so pretty!  We couldn't have asked for a more pleasant day too.  Temperatures in the 70s with the sun shinning! The park was donated in the 1960s by a family that owned the property going back to the 1700s.  The house and surrounding buildings were typical of those belonging to a middle class family in the mid 1800s.  It was really interesting to see and cool that they are at a park for anyone to visit. Some people happened to have some animals there at the park for some reason.  My kids were loving it.  Anna loved copying the sheep's bleating. my little ball of sunshine The kids were picking handfuls of grass and hand feeding...
