Squeezing in a Birthday

Image
I got a great kick off to my birthday weekend with our first temple trip together since Wyatt was little.  I was a little nervous to leave Anna for such a long time, but we got a great babysitter so I knew the kids were in good hands. Before we left, my friend Amanda stopped by and gave me the sweetest birthday present.  These delicious homemade granola bars (that came in handy on the drive to the temple) . . . .  . . . and these adorable aprons.  Even a matching one for Anna.  How she just "whipped these things up" 3 weeks after having her second child I'll never know, but hey I'll take it! :) Going to the temple was great.  Definitely one of the greatest blessings of my life is living close enough to a temple that I can benefit from worshipping and serving there. One of the things I was most excited about, was getting back to Cafe Rio.  I love that there is one close to the temple.  Since the chain is based in Utah, and i...

18 Months

Anna girl is 18 months old?? Really?? It seems like I'm losing my baby a little bit. sigh. She had her well check on Wednesday, and let me tell you that did not go over too well!  As soon as the nurse walked in the door and looked at her, Anna was bawling.  So sad!  She only got two shots, one of them being flu, so at least she won't be getting more for awhile.  Dr. Duck did seem a little concerned by how few words Anna is saying right now.  I actually feel like she talks more than the boys did, so I'm not too worried.  Her weight is 23 lbs 9 oz  and height is 33 1/2 inches (90th percentile) Still tall! Some of her words (that are understandable) are: Momma (constantly said at a loud volume!) Yeah No again (said 'din') mine Out! (said to Maverick when he comes in the house) and signs for: all done dog more food nurse I feel like I never really am stumped by what she is trying to communicate though.  I guess I ...

This Weekend

My post titles are just getting more and more original aren't they? :) Friday was my turn for our preschool group.  We learned all about the letter b and the color yellow :) Eating our snack of B anana B read and B lueberry B read (and apples and yogurt) Playtime!  The kids did really great.  From past experience, I know that as the year wears on and children get more comfortable with everyone, they can get a little more out of control.  But for now, they're great! :) Friday evening, I did my long run.  I'm so happy my toe is doing better and I can run.  The course I did was kind of fun too, because I just ran into town as a straight shot for the most part, then got picked up by Erik who was out with the kids (taking the kids to McDonalds to be honest, haha). It's so much more interesting to run a route that doesn't involve turning around and repeating what you just ran.   I was talking to one of the Moms at school pick up last, and she was...

This Week

Image
Last weekend the humidity and heat finally broke.  That means we have enjoyed an absolutely gorgeous weather week, which always makes this momma very happy!  I couldn't believe that we all needed sweatshirts for our morning bike ride taking Jackson to school.  Hooray for the first signs of fall! Nice weather means lots of outside play.  We tried out our new clearance plastic golf clubs at Jim Barnett park (there is just a little course that is free so you have to bring your own stuff) with Brittany and her kids after school one day.   It was fun, but after awhile, I realized the boys had never played mini golf and had absolutely no idea what they were doing! After teaching them a little bit, I think they liked it better, but we need to go as a family so either Erik or myself can really help them. I think I've gotten more use out of this shirt than any of other.  I'll be sad when she finally can't wear it anymore. Trying to play w...
