Trying to Blog

Image
So I have to admit, I'm pretty frustrated my laptop is still  out of commission   Erik asked/hired a guy at work who likes to tinker with computers to fix it and it he happily agreed.  However, since it's just his hobby and not his job, it's taking quite a bit longer than I would have imagined.  I haven't had it since January!  I think because, it is someone at work, Erik doesn't want to keep asking about it, but I'm getting quite antsy.  Bills and blogs are just so much harder on a desktop computer that is not centrally located.  So obviously, I have cut way down on my blogging during this time.  In some ways, to be honest, it's been a nice break.  I was kind of growing tired with blogging (my own and the whole concept of "mommy blogging" in general).  It's been nice at the end of the day, to just not worry about catching up on the blog or having my nose in the computer while Erik and I are trying to watch a show or...

Happy Easter!

The night before Easter, I had the YW broadcast (which here on the East Coast is from 8-10!).  We had a dessert bar before hand, so Erik colored the eggs with the kids.  When I got home, I thought this note from Jackson was really sweet! It's always fun being the Easter bunny!!  Don't you love mine and Erik's baskets? haha I think we got a few pieces of candy and Erik got a bag of dried mangoes.  Woohoo! :) Sunday morning, was the usual chaos, but I did manage to get the kids in their Easter best before Erik took off to a bishopric meeting. I had never seen her do this before, but I loved the way Anna was posing with her hands under chin :) As you can see, we struggled to get Jackson to cooperate! Anna and Wyatt wanted to do silly faces. How in the world did I get so lucky to be surrounded by these gorgeous children?? Easter dinner was a little nontraditional.  We grilled some tri-tip that turn...

Myrtle Beach Adventure Part 3

Wednesday started off a little rough.  Well we had a delicious breakfast (Anne made pancakes), but the kids seemed to be rubbing each other the wrong way.  Anne finally decided that her kids needed a "chill day." (It does seem like the third day of vacation is sometimes the hardest for kids).  While my kids could have used a  "chill day" too, I also wanted to let them play at the beach one last time. So we drove to a beautiful one! Huntington Beach state park is just a few miles away from Myrtle Beach and it was by far, my favorite thing of the whole trip. I'm sure part of the reason was the weather was finally warm!  On the way there, Wyatt and Anna fell asleep so Jackson and I tried to keep each other company for about an hour while we let the other two sleep. Love this silly boy! After they woke up, we rode/walked to a cool castle that is on the park grounds. Atalaya, was a house built in the 1920s for a really cool, ar...
