It's a Wonderful Life

I was so very sad to hear of Alan Rickman's death on Thursday morning.  Like so very sad.  I have never had this type of reaction to a death of someone I don't know personally, but for many reasons knowing that the world has lost Alan Rickman is just devasting.  It probably is because he played Colonel Brandon in Sense and Sensibility which is a very major, important movie to me.  I didn't remember this, but Kathryn reminded me on facebook that we saw it like 7 times in the theaters!  I remember really loving that movie. It is absolutely, breathtakingly gorgeous.  The soundtrack was one of the first strictly classical pieces of music that I could listen to all day.  And the acting and writing is suberb.  And the romance!  Anyway, I kind of had a crush on Alan Rickman without realizing it.  Of course he played Snape with so much love, emotion, and villainy that could possible be expected.  He was the PERFECT Snape!  I al...

I was fine being done with the aquarium.  I really felt like we got our full use out of the year's pass we had.  Last Thursday though Anna asked if we could go after preschool, and I said yes. :)   I'm going to miss you, cute otter brothers!   One of the new sections they added was a "deep sea area."  I am so grossed out/fascinated by some of these! Halfway in, I wondered if Erik could join us and sure enough he could!  We went to the Amazon section with him, and then we watched Anna play on the playground for a bit before he had to go back to work. I told Anna I wanted to take a picture of her next to the playground so we would always remember what it looked like and she assured me that no matter what she would always remember this playground ;) Next fall once our zoo pass and Thanksgiving Point pass expires, we will decided on one to renew, and I do hope the kids choose the aquarium at some point....

While we were watching the 4th Harry Potter for our Sunday afternoon movie, Wyatt all of a sudden said, "Dumbledore looks like he is trying to be a cool guy."  When I asked him why, he said, "because he has on a rap necklace and rings!"  It made me laugh pretty hard!  I love my Wy-Guy and his comedy stylings! :) Ugh this winter just needs to be over soon, yet I know it won't be for a long, long time!  :( Oh boy, I noticed many of Wyatt's pictures from his journal at school involved either military or police, usually shooting at "bad guys." yikes When I texted Erik's sisters about how excited I was to see a new menu item at Costco they (probably rightly so) made fun of me.  We eat at Costco about once a week, and it's pretty rare for me in the mood for a hot dog and the pizzas are delicious but soooo bad for you!  I am happy to have another option.   Anna requested a few pictures while we were at Old Navy the other ...
