Thanksgiving Weekend

I don't think I'm ready to start the regular week after such a long weekend!  It was everything that I wanted it be: low key with lots of time for relaxing.  Erik and I watched two movies Thursday and Friday (Prince of Persia and Robin Hood).  Over the past 4 months we've probably just watched three, so that was a success for us :)

Thanksgiving day we went and celebrated with the Johnsons (Jimmy is one of Erik's best friends from BYU).  He and his wife Amy (also part of the BYU gang :) ) live right outside of D.C. alongside several of his family members.  It was great fun.  There were lots of kids and toys which kept Jackson and Wyatt happy, and lots of laughter and good food that kept Erik and I happy!  Of course I forgot my camera :)

On Friday, we went and saw Tangled as a family.  I was a little worried, because I had read that Disney really tried to play up the "boy antics" in the previews and wasn't sure how the end product would entertain the boys.  We all ended up liking it.  Jackson never moved an inch while watching it, however, after it was all over and I asked him how he enjoyed it he told me, "I only like movies with superheros like Batman or Spiderman."  Oh well!  I thought it was so cute and I'm getting very tempted to buy the soundtrack on itunes.

On Saturday, we went to a nice tree farm close by and cut down our Christmas tree.  Part of the reason we picked it was because we saw on the website there were animals you could feed.  Well, once we got there we found out that the animals weren't to arrive until today.  I thought the boys would be really sad, but they took it well, and we still had fun.

All bundled up searching for the perfect one.  It was definitely the chilliest day we've had so far-- the wind here reminds me of Rexburg sometimes!

We found it!  Can you tell I accidentally grabbed Jackson's hat?  It's a little small . . .

Jackson and Wyatt loved watching Erik saw it down.

Last night we finished decorating the tree which was so much fun (well for me and the boys at least.  Erik doesn't get as excited :) )  There really is nothing like a decorated tree, inside of a cozy house, with Christmas music playing in the background.  Here's to a great Christmas season!

a) i LOVE that wyatt is wearing jackson's old coat...i loved when jack wore that (i love camo)
b) i bet erik was thrilled to go cut down a tree with his boys- the years we did get a tree we went to a tree farm to cut one down and we always got hot apple cider (im sure erik has already told you this) but it's fun for me to see him do that with his own kids
c) i thought tangled was really cute, too...and i liked the soundtrack a lot. also, you know you'll have a reason to get the dvd when it comes out...having a girl very soon and all- you might just have to get it for her actual BIRTH-day :)
