Sonora and Livermore

Image
This week I was able to see more people that I love. I went and saw Molly in Sonora on Friday, and on Saturday I went to see the Nyholms in Livermore . Both places had a common aspect: the drive down was so gorgeous. Sometimes, I forget how beautiful northern California is! It was great finally being able to meet Molly's Max. He is so adorable and cuddly! It was funny seeing him next to Wyatt, because it made me realize my Wy -guy is a little guy indeed :) I have so many happy memories of being at that house in Sonora. Not only with Molly, but also mine and Erik's first date was there. The Seiberts are responsible for our match and I couldn't be more grateful. Thanks guys! Jordan was so cute with Wyatt. I can see what Molly was saying: Jordan doesn't like to leave babies alone, but she was so sweet! This picture could've been taken 20 years ago (or to be honest 15 years ago- we played with dolls for a long time). We were always holding our "babies...

Stockton: Week Two

Image
Well, we have enjoyed yet another week in sunny CA. I'm sure by the time we leave on Tuesday, my parents are going to take a very long nap b/c I think Jackson and Wyatt are wearing them out. Oh wait, they had 6 kids effortlessly, maybe its just me that gets worn out! :) Like always, they are so loving and fun with the boys! We started off the week with another Easter egg hunt since we didn't get to do one with them on Easter (any excuse to have candy, right?). On Wednesday, we went to the Children's Museum and Jackson was in heaven! Its so funny how the simplest things can rock his world. He was going a mile a minute to every part of the place for almost 3 hours straight. He's been playing hard! Coloring some Easter eggs. My Grandma and Grandpa came down from Roseville to participate in the hunt! It was a lot of fun to see them. I love talking to them. My Grandpa is always reading something interesting and he's always up to date on what is happening ...

Isn't is amazing how much can change in 6 months??? Here's a comparison shot of Jackson and Wyatt. I think as they get older they are starting to look more and more different. The day Wyatt was born was one of the very happiest of my life, and it has honestly just gotten better. I am so grateful for all the pure joy he brings me.

Here in the Home I Love

Yeah, we made it! Last Monday we flew to Las Vegas and stayed with the Winsborrows for a night. It was fun seeing Rebecca and the boys. They are always so sweet to Jackson. Even with their new birthday Star Wars Lego sets they were working on, they made time to play with him :) Tuesday night, we flew to Stockton. Can I just say that I deserve some kind of medal? Not only was I able to pack without checking any luggage in, but I was able to navigate through all the airports with Wyatt in a backpack, Jackson with his "special backpack" (i.e. leash), two rolling carry- ons , a diaper bag, and Wyatt's car seat. I sure got some mighty strange looks. Many times though, people offered to help me when my precariously balanced load toppled to the ground. To make matters worse, I forgot Jackson's entertainment backpack at the Winsborrows , so we flew to Stockton without his books, cars, DVD player, or fruit snacks. Yikes! It actually wasn't too bad, ...

No Camera :(

We have had a fun weekend with Erik's Dad and brother, Peter coming up here for a bit while Erik's Mom is helping out with Kaitlin's new adorable baby in Roy. It's always fun to see family, and its especially fun to see Jackson really "get" these connections now. Today has been a really great Easter so far. Church was wonderful and I loved the Easter themed "Music and the Spoken Word" that always helps set the tone in our home. It was fun to share Jackson's excitement with his Easter basket and egg hunt. I took some adorable pictures of us in our Easter church clothes (well adorable of the boys anyway) and of all the action when suddenly the unthinkable happened- my memory card broke! Have you ever heard of such a thing? All of the pictures are irretrievable!! It leads me to ponder a question, "If a tree falls in the forest, but you do not have a picture of it, did it actually happen??" Hopefully I will dig out our old memory card, so I...

Leaving on a jet plane

On Monday, Jackson, Wyatt, and I are flying to Las Vegas and then on to Stockton. We got killer deals ($29 flights each way flying from the IF airport and into the Stockton airport!) We're excited to see some family, but there is a catch. I can't check in any luggage (well, I could they just charge me for any checked in bags). So, I need to take a 2 1/2 week trip with a baby and a pre-schooler with only two carry on bags. Do you think I can do? Erik is not so sure . . . If you have any space saving suggestions that would be appreciated :)

My Kids Are Soo Lucky I'm Not a Single Mom

Whenever Erik goes away for a couple of days I'm reminded of two things: 1) He helps me out a lot and 2) I'm not as patient as I sometimes think I am. As Erik was gone Friday morning to Sat. night, I was able to relearn these things and more. The experience was heightened, I'm sure, by the fact that we are all major sickies right now. Don't get me wrong, I love being a mom and am blessed that I am able to stay at home with my darling boys, however, there comes a point (usually after 10 or 11 hours) when I just need a break . Fortunately, this corresponds perfectly with Erik coming home from work every day. As soon as he comes home, he's always (well as long as there is not a scout meeting, or HOA meeting, or work thing, or basketball game)willing to let me work out, cook a meal, or take a bath all by myself. When he's gone, I do not have that luxury. So at that time when I'm really needing a break, I get myself a handful of chocolate chips, and I kind of ju...
