Temple Christmas Lights
On Sunday the 15th, Erik's co-worker Matt and his girlfriend Emily invited us over to dinner at their place. Since that was the day we had scheduled to see the temple lights, we decided to ask them if they wanted to join us. A few other friends from work were going to come with us as well, but it ended up just being Matt and Emily.
They made a delicious lasagna dinner and it was fun visiting them at their apartment. I felt bad that they were squished in the back of the van next to Jackson, but they were good sports about and we enjoyed the drive up to the temple.
And the temple lights were beautiful and wonderful. However, the visitor's center was PACKED! Like standing room only- couldn't even see everything we wanted to see. The line to go into the room with all of the nativities from around the world is one of my favorite parts of the Christmas lights at the temple, but it was a 45 min. line! So there was no way we were going to attempt that with the kids. We also couldn't see a performance because the tickets were all gone for the night by the time we got there. I was a little worried that Matt and Emily would be overwhelmed by the crowds, but they seemed to really be interested and enjoy it! They took a lot of pictures and asked a lot questions about our church.
Lighting isn't too great in this picture, but I had to include it because to the kids seeing the big statue of Christ is like the main reason we go to the temple. :)
They looked so cute all lined up, watching the missionary videos. They LOVE those videos!
