Monday, Monday, So Good To Me
Yesterday as soon as Erik came home from work, we threw our swimsuits on and went to the pool.
It was a hot, humid day . . . perfect for the pool. We were lucky and had the pool to ourselves too!
Anna loved the water! I'm sure it helped that it was pretty warm. I was marvelling at how much easier/fun it was to play in the pool with her this time. The last time we went, when she was just a couple of months old, she couldn't even hold her head up all the way.
Jackson and Wyatt had a blast too. Wyatt is getting much more comfortable in the water.
After pool time, we had a quick dinner and then our Family Home Evening. Jackson and Wyatt were pretty excited for the lesson. Earlier in the day, Jackson told me he wanted to act out the nativity for our lesson. He really wanted to make a crown for one of the Kings to wear. Rather pull a "Christmas in July," I suggested he find another scripture story to act out that had a king in it. We settled on the story of Ammon (smiting off of arms is always a plus in a house of boys). The parts were decided, Erik: king Lamoni, me: director and/or sheep, Jackson: Lamanite robbers, Wyatt: Ammon. It started out OK, Erik told the story and the parts were played out. I soon realized that this lesson was not going down a "reverently, quietly" kind of path though. Here are a couple of snippets of our spiritually uplifting Nyholm Family Home Evening (can you hear the sarcasm??)
