St. George Part One
So a couple weeks prior, Amy Hanks had mentioned that she knew someone that has a condo in St. George that would rent it to us. It sounded like a perfect thing to do off track- especially since I already planned to drive down to Las Vegas to see family.
So Monday morning, we drove down to St. George!
The drive was fine and uneventful. We stopped for lunch in Fillmore I believe.
Once we were there we settled into our rooms in the condo, and then we decided to get some dinner at a Mexican place in St. George.
Well it wasn't the best experience only because after we got our food the power went out! And since it was dark outside there was NO light at all. Wyatt and Spencer were pretty nervous. It looked like the whole street didn't have power. We waited about 20 minutes, but obviously the kids were not going to eat in pitch black. I was also a little bugged that the server didn't really check on us at all. She came out like once, and I get that it wasn't her fault or even the fault of the restaurant, but it still was a pretty miserable experience trying to keep the kids happy in the pitch black. Finally we just asked if we could get boxes and she came back to tell us that she had no boxes . . . .um OK. Then we decided to just pay and leave, so we walked over to the register (by the light of our phone) and waited another 20 minutes for someone to come over, then someone came but told us we had to wait until they could get their credit card machine to work again, and the whole time I was thinking they should have just comped us for that food! But we were suckers and waited and paid and the whole thing was dumb but funny looking back on it haha
I loved sleeping with Anna!
The next morning our plan was to go to Snow Canyon State Park. When we got there we realized that this was the one day of the year (or like a few days in the year) closed for maintenance. So we parked outside the park and just walked into (the roads were closed, but you could walk in). The closest thing we could walk to was the sand, which was totally fine because that was the main thing the kids wanted to do anyway.
They had a lot of fun playing football and digging in the sand!
Anna and Luke were so cute together!
That's a lot of sand in Jackson's shoe haha
After spending an hour or two there we went to grab some lunch at Panda Express and Costa Vida.
haha i love this pic
it was little colder than i would have liked for sure, but with sweatshirts, it was fine. Definitely better than the snow we had in Herriman!
